Cairns
is the gateway to Tropical North Queensland and the
ideal starting point for safaris to the Great Barrier
Reef, rainforest, outback and the vast wilderness
of Cape York Peninsula.
It is an easy city that provides all the services needed by
those heading out into more remote regions. There are good
shopping malls, efficient transport, sophisticated hotels,
cosmopolitan restaurants, cafes and nightclubs and a lifestyle
that is in keeping with contemporary city living. There are
excellent theatres, galleries, nightclubs and the
glass-domed Reef Hotel Casino.
