For
many travelers Sydney is the gateway to
Australia and the place that stops them
in their tracks! Sydney is not only a stunningly
picturesque city, it is alive with cosmopolitan
flare - from Bondi Beach to weekend markets;
from China Town to Little Italy; from the
Opera House to open air concerts right through
the thriving restaurant scene. However,
NSW has much to offer and we want you to
enjoy breathtaking beaches, World Heritage
National Parks, a taste of the outback,
gentle rural landscapes, the food and wine
trails, adventure activities and historic
country towns.
Melbourne is of course
renowned as a less brash and more refined city
than Sydney. Melbourne, the capital of Victoria is
a cultural hub, known for the good things in life
- fashion, food, entertainment and sport. This is
a city of style, architecture, trams, theatres and
art. And yet again go further and Victoria will
captivate you there are spectacular coastal
drives, quiet bays, pounding surf beaches,
tranquil rainforests, caves, gorges, pioneering
settlements and more scenic wine country to be
enjoyed.

Best time to visit
|
|
NSW climate is as welcoming as its capital - the warmest months of December to February have an
average maximum temperature of 26º Celsius. Along the coast hot days are often tempered by cooling
sea breezes and evening temperatures are balmy - perfect for relaxed alfresco dining. June to August
are the coolest months, with daytime temperatures rarely falling below 7º Celsius. Even in mid-winter
blue sky days are common.
Victoria enjoys four distinct seasons. Summer (December to February) has plenty of warm, sunny days
around 26º Celsius, though the weather can be changeable so bring a light jacket just in case. Spring
(September to November) is fresh and invigorating, and autumn (March to May) is a superb time to visit
with the changing leaves and moderate temperatures. Winter (June to August) can be cold - alpine snowfields
are just three hours from Melbourne by car.
