Day 1 -
Daintree Rainforest, Silky
Oaks Lodge, 3 nights
A private chauffeur driven car will take you from
Cairns to Silky Oaks Lodge. After settling into your
Treehouse accommodation, your afternoon can be spent
exploring the ancient rainforest surrounds. Maybe a
mountain bike ride followed by a swim in the natural
lagoon of the Mossman River.
Day 2 - Silky Oaks
After a tropical breakfast join a small group for the
trip to Cape Tribulation and the Daintree River. A guided
cruise reveals the density of the forest as well as some
fearsome crocs basking on the banks! Continue on to Cape
Tribulation for a BBQ lunch at a private site on the Myall
Creek - and no crocs here so it is safe to swim.
Day 3 - Silky Oaks
The lodge is close to the resort town of Port Douglas,
you might want to take the courtesy coach transfer and do
a bit of browsing in the arts and crafts galleries here.
Back at the Lodge spend time in the casual tree house
lounge and bar, enjoy the reference library or take a dip
in the pool.
Silky Oaks spa is inspired by the sacred river and
rainforest and features tribal recipes and ingredients
from Litya, a unique and natural Australian aboriginal
range. Spa treatments are designed to replenish and
nurture the body, mind and spirit.

Day 4 - Great Barrier Reef,
Lizard Island, 3 nights
After breakfast your driver will take you to Cairns where
you board a charter aircraft for the flight north along
the Barrier Reef to Lizard Island.
A site of remarkable variety and beauty, the Great Barrier
Reef is a World Heritage Site extending 2,000 kilometres
along Australias east coast. The Reef's diversity
reflects the maturity of the ecosystem, which has evolved
over hundreds of thousands of years. It is the world's
most extensive coral reef system and is one of the richest
areas on the planet in terms of faunal diversity. Four
hundred types of coral, 1500 species of fish and 4,000
types of mollusc have been recorded.
Located right on the Great Barrier Reef, Lizard Island is
a private paradise. You can choose any one of 24 powdery
white beaches on which to relax with a picnic lunch
hamper. Snorkel off a secluded beach to discover a garden
of giant clams, some reputed to be over 120 years old.
Accommodation is in one of 40 rooms ranging from the
ultimate indulgence of the Pavilion to the smaller Anchor
Bay Garden rooms. All have a private deck with umbrellas
and hammocks or daybed, CD players, air-conditioning as
well as ceiling fans, beach towels, bathrobes and fully
stocked mini-bar.
The a la carte verandah restaurant overlooks the beach and
serves superb cuisine with an emphasis on local seafood
and tropical fruits.
Day 5 & 6 - Lizard Island
Sail a catamaran to a private beach for an undisturbed
picnic lunch. Laze in a hammock and read a book or simply
do nothing! For the more energetic, there are self-guided
nature trails around the island, tennis, a freshwater pool
and a well-equipped gym. Tours to the Lizard Island
Research Station, one of the foremost centres for coral
reef research in the world, are also available.
Lizard is known as one of the best dive spots on the reef
and you may take an introductory scuba lesson or a full
day excursion to the outer reef (dive activities are at
additional cost).
Day 7 -
Departure from Lizard
Return to Cairns via the scheduled flight.
