Journey begins on a Friday to fit with the scheduled Ghan journey
from Adelaide to Alice Springs on a Sunday afternoon. In reverse Day
1 will be a Thursday and the train journey will be from Alice Springs
to Adelaide on the following Thursday. If this does not work for you,
the itinerary can be modified, as you require.

JOURNEY BRIEF |
|
Friday
: From Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
by scheduled flight & your hosts will
meet and transfer you to their beautiful
homestead for your 2 night stay.
Saturday
: A full day small group guided
tour of the Island including delicious
BBQ seafood lunch.
Sunday : A morning
spent with Graham Wheaton, your host, exploring
his 3000 acre Kangaroo Island property, followed
by scheduled flight to Adelaide and transfer to
the Railway Station to depart on The Ghan at
5pm.

Monday
: Midday arrival in Alice Springs and transfer
to a vast outback cattle property for a 2 night stay.
Tuesday : Full day on the
cattle ranch join in with the ranch hands, go for a
bush walk or just sit back and take in the stunning
views.

Wednesday
: Scheduled flight to Uluru (Ayers
Rock) where you will stay 2 nights in
Australias most luxurious tented camp
Longitude 131?. Evening guided
tour of the Rock and surrounds with sun
downer drinks.
Thursday : Morning and afternoon touring of
Uluru and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas).
Friday : Scheduled flight to
Cairns where you are met and transferred
to Thala Beach Lodge spend the afternoon
to relaxing on a beautiful tropical beach.
Saturday : Your expert local guide will collect
you for a full day, small group tour of the rain
forests of tropical Queensland.

Sunday : Free day to laze in the sun, wander along
the beach or to take a boat trip to the Great Barrier Reef
choose from sail boats, big groups, private charters etc.
Monday
: The end of the journey and you will be transferred
to Cairns Airport for your onward flight or to your Island
connection.

The very best months span the
Australian winter although Kangaroo Island will
be chilly and wet, the Centre & North will be warm
& sunny. |
 |
In the summer months the Desert
Centre will be very hot and the Tropical North
will be hot and humid. Swimming off the Queensland
beach is not recommended in these months. |
