Buffeted
by the waves and winds of the Southern Ocean, Kangaroo
Island boasts some of Australias most spectacular
coastline and wildlife unaffected by the introduced
species of European settlement. Tamar wallabies, now
almost extinct on the mainland, Grey kangaroos, koalas,
echidnas, Fairy penguins, seals and sea lions plus
a variety of bird life, live within the safety of
the islands ocean boundaries.
Graham and Lyn
Wheaton have always lived on Kangaroo Island - Graham is
a third generation islander and runs the 3,000-acre farm
that his grandparents settled. The property has some
unusual geographic features and two beautiful lagoons
that attract wildlife and 45 species of water bird.
Built in 1920 the Homestead has been beautifully
renovated and, with the Wheatons hospitality, now
offers guests an exclusive and beautiful rural location,
from which to explore the island.
