Comprising 250 square miles of spectacular
country in the Flinders Ranges, Angorichina is a medium sized
(!) outback sheep station run by Ian and Di Fargher. The
property has been in the Fargher family for four generations
and they know the country intimately.
Getting out and about with Ian, as he goes
about the running of this vast property, is a chance to enjoy
wildlife, take bushwalks, view aboriginal rock art and admire
breathtaking outback scenery. It’s also a chance to get to
know your host and to hear stories of life in the outback and
the regions pioneering history.

Guest accomodation is in the original
stone homestead or in the refurbished schoolroom, just down
the garden path and with its own en suite bathroom. Should you
like a little quiet time, there is a private guest living room
otherwise you are welcome to make yourself at home on the
terrace or in the main living area of the homestead.
 Near
the homestead are a tennis court and a fascinating
collection of small sheds that make up the kind of
real life museum that a working property requires.
Angorichina features a unique native pine woolshed,
built in the 1860's.
Breakfast is served in the kitchen with Di
preparing to order. Dinner is hosted in the dining room while
lunch may be a picnic out on the property, or part of a day
trip to the Prairie hotel where you can experiment with some
of their unique ‘feral’ Australian cuisine.
Wildlife on the property includes the
Western Grey and Red Kangaroos, euros and emus as well as a
noisy plethora of birds. In the evening as you watch the
sunset, more secretive wildlife may be spied. The
Yellow-footed Rock Wallaby glides across the rocks, its ornate
brown, white and black lined faces and shoulders, and its
yellow feet act as camouflage amongst the tall shadows and
slanting rays of twilight.
The Fargher’s welcoming hospitality, the
delicious home-cooked meals washed down with excellent
Australian wines, the intimate atmosphere and the stunning
