The
Wilson family has farmed Puunyart, one of Victorias
oldest properties, since the 1930s. This area of Australia
was one of the first settled and interestingly, at
certain times of the year it resembles more an English
rural scene than the typical Australian countryside.
There are 3 guest rooms (2 with en
suite bathroom) in the main house. The Wilsons have
retained vestiges of their Scottish heritage (look for
the small herd of Highland cattle near the homestead)
and the main hall is reminiscent of a Scottish country
house. Off the main hall is the sitting room - a
relaxing place to enjoy an evening drink or a good book.
At dinner the combination of Jim and Dianas hospitality
and the fresh produce from the garden and farm provide
for an excellent evening at home. Breakfast is served in
the conservatory beside the kitchen. There is also a
billiard room, swimming pool and tennis
court.

Puunyart
is an ideal rural stop on a Victorian self-drive itinerary.
Only three hours to the northwest are the Grampian
mountains, whose ramparts still harbor a huge variety
of wildlife and wilderness, while to the south lies
some of Australias most famous coastline, visible
from the spectacular drive along the Great Ocean road.
Be
sure to allow time to take part in the daily activities &
running of the 2,500 acres property, watch sheep dogs at work,
see the shearing in season and learn how to select the finest
quality Australian wool.
Over the
years Jim has collected memorabilia, antiques and
aboriginal artifacts representative of the early years
of settlement. If you are interested, Jim will guide you
